About Gottwals Books

Gottwals Books was founded in 2007 by Shane & Abbey Gottwals. Gottwals Books is a used and new bookstore chain carrying a wide range of genres for all age groups and interests. Since 2007, the original location in Warner Robins has moved to a much larger building, and three other stores have opened in Middle Georgia.

Our goal is to provide a great selection of used and new books with fair prices, an incredible array of special-order options, and fantastic value for trade credit (for used books) and cash purchases (for college textbooks). We are also a LifeWay authorized dealer with plenty of church supplies and Christian products, and our Warner Robins store is stocked with a wide range of teacher resources.

Shane Gottwals was born and raised in Macon, attending church at Central Fellowship Baptist Church and school at Central Fellowship Christian Academy.  He has a B.A. in English from Mercer University, spending a portion of his college years at Oxford University in England. Shane has extensive retail experience which has helped Gottwals Books/Walls of Books® become one of the largest used bookstore chains in the United States. He is frequently asked to speak at book industry conferences, and he is a notable go-to for bookstore consulting.
