What’s in a Name?
Many authors write under multiple pen names, often crossing into other genres when they do so. Examples include Nora Roberts (known for romance) writing a futuristic crime series as JD Robb and Kathy Hogan Trocheck penning cozy mysteries before writing southern-flavored beach reads as Mary Kay Andrews.
Paranormal romance writer J.R. Ward is also contemporary romance writer Jessica Bird, and Jayne Anne Krentz is also Jayne Castle and Amanda Quick! This is by no means a modern phenomenon. (Benjamin Franklin is known to have published under at least a dozen different pen names!)
